On March 23, a delivery ceremony for a new-energy locomotive was held at the Beijing Jingping Comprehensive Logistics Hub. The FXN3B hybrid shunting locomotive, independently developed by CRRC Dalian Co., Ltd., was officially delivered to Jinggu Railway. It was the first hybrid shunting locomotive introduced into a non-China Railway operator in Beijing.
The locomotive is a new generation rail transit product developed by CRRC to meet railway transportation needs while advancing green development. Featuring advanced battery technology and a high-efficiency motor system, it delivers lower emissions, reduced noise, and higher energy efficiency compared to traditional diesel locomotives, significantly reducing energy consumption and lifecycle O&M costs, and enhancing overall operational capability and transportation efficiency.
The FXN3B replaces an aging diesel locomotive of Jinggu Railway. It represents a concrete implementation of China’s equipment renewal and trade-in initiative, sets a benchmark for green transition of non-China Railway operators in Beijing, and provides a replicable model for green upgrading of the existing rail systems nationwide.
