CRRC Trains Support Urban Mobility in Mexico Amid Rising Passenger Demand

FORM: 10/06/2026 Browse number:

As passenger demand grows across major Mexican cities, public transportation systems in Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara are playing an increasingly important role in supporting urban mobility. A fleet of 115 light rail vehicles developed by CRRC is operating reliably across these cities, providing safe, convenient, and environmentally friendly transportation services for local residents and visitors alike.

In Mexico City, CRRC supplies light rail vehicles for the line serving Estadio Azteca. Designed to accommodate the city's high-altitude environment and rainy-season conditions, the vehicles feature regenerative braking systems, low-noise ventilation technology, and enhanced accessibility facilities to deliver a comfortable and sustainable travel experience. In Monterrey, CRRC vehicles serving the urban rail network have undergone multiple technological upgrades, further improving operational efficiency, energy utilization, and intelligent system performance. In Guadalajara, Line 4 extends rail connectivity to densely populated districts and key transportation hubs, strengthening the city's integrated transit network and improving travel convenience for local communities.

To prepare for anticipated passenger surges, CRRC has implemented a comprehensive operational support program. A multi-level response mechanism has been established, with additional technical and service teams deployed on site in Mexico. Around-the-clock technical assistance and emergency response services are in place to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the fleet.
