The project signing ceremony held between Qingdao Port of Shandong Port Group and Yangtze Company of CRRC Yangtze Group marks the implementation of the intelligent air-rail collection and distribution system made in Wuhan by Qingdao Port of Shandong Port Group. The project integrates high technologies like 5G, AI and Big Data, and brings the construction of intelligent ports to the next level. It will further improve the container consolidation and distribution capabilities of Qingdao Port, and expand the development room for the port area.
The smart air-rail system boasts intelligence, unmanned operation and environmental friendliness and can realize “zero-transfer” among port, land and rail transportation, opening up the ‘last kilometer” of the logistics bottleneck, and effectively resolving the issue of “neighboring but not connected, connected but not smooth” among transportation hubs.
Meanwhile, the smart air-rail system features good extension, compatibility and adaptability, and is a safer, more efficient, greener, and more economical new three-dimensional transportation mode that represents the future smart transportation development direction for cities, ports and logistics.
