As of July 9, 2025, the 1,000-kilowatt standard new energy locomotive developed by CRRC Ziyang has demonstrated outstanding performance in operational trials conducted by Magang Group, achieving a total mileage of 21,406 kilometers—a testament to its robust capabilities.
This 1,000-kilowatt new energy locomotive features significant advantages including low emissions, minimal noise, and high efficiency. It maintains stable operation even under demanding steel mill conditions, meeting Magang's requirements for eco-friendly transportation.
Since its trial operation began in November 2024, the locomotive has transported over 15 million tons of freight while reducing fuel consumption by more than 45% compared to conventional diesel locomotives, demonstrating the strong adaptability of new energy locomotives in transport operations.
As China's pioneer in new energy locomotives, CRRC Ziyang has established a comprehensive product portfolio covering three power configurations: "diesel engine + battery," "battery," and "hydrogen fuel cell." With power outputs ranging from 200 kW to 3000 kW, these solutions can fully meet the rail transport needs of domestic and international enterprises.
