5000 km with Zero Failure! The New Energy Locomotive Excels in First Stage of Operational Assessment

Source: DateTime: 2025-01-22

On January 21, under the supervision of the National Railway Product Quality Inspection and Testing Center (referred to as the "Quality Inspection Center"), CRRC Ziyang Co., Ltd. completed a comprehensive inspection of 122 items across eight major systems, including bogies, diesel engines, carbody, and electrical equipment, for its new series of internal electric hybrid locomotives.

This milestone makes it the first new energy locomotive to pass the Quality Inspection Center's supervision and inspection, advancing to the second stage of operational assessment.

As of January 15, 2025, the 1000kW diesel engine+battery hybrid locomotive developed by CRRC Ziyang has been tested at Masteel Group for 48 days, covering a cumulative distance of 5046 km. Throughout this period, it experienced no failures or temporary maintenance, showcasing exceptional reliability and stability.

Over 5000 km in 48 days! Operational data shows that CRRC Ziyang's new energy locomotive, replacing the DF7C for raw material transport, operates on routes with a maximum gradient of 6‰ and a minimum curve radius of 130 meters. It handles single traction loads exceeding 3000 tons, averages over 21 hours of daily operation, and transports over 80,000 ton-kilometers of freight. Compared to the DF7C performing the same tasks at the same site, the new energy locomotive operates over 6 hours longer daily, hauls more than 50% additional cargo, and achieves a fuel saving rate of over 45%!

This is the strength of CRRC Ziyang's new energy locomotives!Starting January 22, 2025, CRRC Ziyang's new hybrid energy locomotive has begun its one-year operational assessment journey.
