In 2015, CRRC Dalian R&D successfully secured an order for the traction and network control systems of 232 South African Diesel Locomotives. The first batch of 35 diesel locomotives equipped with these systems served Bloemfontein, the judicial capital of South Africa. The system utilized frequency conversion speed regulation and vector control technologies, which were developed with full intellectual property rights. These technologies received unanimous praise from South African experts, who commended the locomotives for their functional configurations, stating that they had reached an internationally leading level.
