Silicon Carbide (SiC) Charger

The SiC-based 10kW battery charger directly draws power from the DC 750V grid and outputs a DC 24V power supply, providing direct current load power for urban rail vehicles.

Key Technical Highlights:

  • i. The SiC charger is compact and lightweight, reducing the volume and weight by 60%-70% compared to IGBT-based battery chargers of the same power rating, supporting the overall vehicle weight reduction design.
  • ii. The working efficiency can reach 95%, an approximate increase of 5 percentage points compared to traditional solutions, which reduces operational energy consumption and saves operating costs.
  • iii. A control algorithm based on PFC (Power Factor Correction) is adopted to reduce the ripple of the input AC 380V, improving the power supply quality for equipment on the AC 380V bus and extending their service life, thereby reducing the life-cycle costs of device procurement and maintenance.
