High-Frequency Auxiliary Power Supply

From: 2022-12-30

The high-frequency auxiliary power supply adopts a three-stage circuit topology and a series-parallel structure, which can reduce the DC bus voltage, thereby lowering the voltage rating of the switching devices and increasing the operating switching frequency. Compared with traditional power-frequency solutions, it can effectively reduce the volume and weight of the cabinet, decrease switching losses, and improve system efficiency. Currently, CRRC Dalian R&D has completed the prototype development and trial production of the high-frequency auxiliary power supply and is conducting type tests.

Key Technical Highlights:

  • i. The power density of the high-frequency auxiliary power supply is greater than 0.3 kVA/kg. Compared with traditional power-frequency solutions, the weight and volume are reduced by 60%, which lowers operational energy consumption and saves operating costs.
  • ii. When connected to a linear load, the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the auxiliary power supply output is less than 2%, which improves power supply quality and extends the life of downstream loads.
  • iii. It can achieve parallel operation of multiple auxiliary power supplies without interconnection lines, resulting in higher system redundancy.
