The Materials Technology and Engineering Institute is a research and testing institution under TMT, as well as a national enterprise technology research and development center that integrates basic research on material technology, new technology application research and new project incubators. The Institute has scientific research qualifications such as post-doctoral research workstation, research and training bases, Hunan Provincial Key Laboratory of Vibration and Noise Reduction Technology of Transportation Equipment, and National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center of Composite Materials for Large Traffic Equipment in Hunan Province.
Fulfilling the mission of being a leader in polymer materials research and engineering application, the Institute promotes the company's polymer materials research and engineering promotion and application of the “157” core technology system, that is, one development direction: polymer materials research and engineering application as the technical development direction; five majortechnologies: vibration control, noise reduction, lightweight, anti-seismic and insulation; seven core capabilities: polymer composite modification, simulation analysis of systems and structures, structural design and simulation, composite material preparation, vibration and noise control, detection, analysis and evaluation, system solution and process and equipment support.
At present, the Institute has 3 expert studios, 11 materials/technology research rooms, 4 functional departments, 1 post-doctoral research workstation and postgraduate joint training base. Among the Institute, there are 66 senior talents of Zhuzhou City, 18 core talents from CRRC, 9 professional senior engineers, and 28 senior engineers. Doctors and masters account for 50% of the total, making it a team with strong R&D and design capabilities, extensive engineering experience and high level of project management.
