Introduction of CED

Beijing CED Railway Electric Tech. Co. Ltd. is a liability company invested by Datong Electric Locomotive Co. Ltd. Of CNR under the "Introducing Technology Policy" of the Ministry Of Railways China. Located in Beijing CED engaged in development and manufacture of key products for Locomotives and EMUs pursuing new technological advancements in international railway transportation. CED focuses on developing world class products by the introduction, digestion, absorption and reinnovation of railway HV electric equipment technology to achieve the goal of a presence in domestic and international markets.

The main products, DSA200 and DSA250 pantograph, are exclusively equipped to HXD2 and HXD3 electric locomotives and CRN1, CRH2 and CRH5 EMUs. In 2005, an historic opportunity was given to CED. This was the localization of 6 kinds of HV electric switchgears. CED expanded its product range to become a specialized supplier of HV equipment for railway and services customers with system solutions for current collection and switch control for various traction speeds.

As a main supplier of HV electric products for companies of CRS or CNR, CED has steadily cooperated with locomotive and rolling stock companies for a long time.

Current applications of CED products are:

HXD2 electric locomotive: DSA200 Pantograph, 22CB Vacuum Circuit Breaker, 35KS Earthing Switch, TRIOP Contactor, CITI Contactor, ZBB Switch, BVR Key Box.

HXD3 electric locomotive: DSA200 Pantograph, 22CBDL Vacuum Circuit Breaker, 35KSDL Earthing Switch, PIS HV Disconnector.

CRH1, CRH2, CRH5 EMU: DSA250 Pantograph.
