In October 2010, CRRC Dalian strengthened the diesel engine industry and integrated superior resources such as diesel engine R&D, processing, assembly, and testing, and established CNR (Dalian) Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. After the merger of China South Locomotive Group and China CNR Group in 2015, the company officially changed its name to Dalian CRRC Diesel Engine Co., Ltd.

Dalian CRRC Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. insists on independent innovation and technology introduction, digestion and absorption, and innovation, forming a series of 240, 265, 270 and D180 four major diesel engine products. The main performance indicators are at the leading position in China and the technology has reached the international advanced level. The power covers from 700 kilowatts to 7500 kilowatts, and the annual production capacity reaches 2 million kilowatts. It can annually produce 1,000 diesel engines and 500 diesel generator sets. The company actively expands the non-rail industry. In addition to the railway locomotives, the diesel engine series products are also widely used as generator sets and multi-field emergency generator sets, military and civilian ship main and auxiliary engines, engineering vessels, oil fields, ports and construction machinery, etc. Generator products have been exported to Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and many other countries. The Lushun diesel production base under construction covers an area of ​​approximately 350,000 square meters. It plans to build advanced assembly and test production lines, first-class parts processing capabilities and modern logistics systems. The new base can annually produce 1,000 diesel engines of various types. With 500 sets of diesel generators, the company will become the largest R&D and manufacturing base for medium-speed and high-speed diesel engines in Asia with the largest capacity, the most advanced technology and the most extensive power coverage. This will greatly enhance the company's international competitiveness in the general power manufacturing industry.
