On March 20, the Ningbo Rail Transit's trains for Line 10 (Cixi Line) and Line 12 (Xiangshan Line), jointly developed by Ningbo Rail Transit and CRRC ZELC, officially made their debut at the CRRC Ningbo Industrial Base.
The trains for Line 10 (Cixi Line) are mainly deep purple, while those for Line 12 (Xiangshan Line) are blue-green. Their spindle-shaped heads create a striking contrast with the round and flat design of the existing ones.
As China’s first demonstration project for the standardized urban Type A train, the trains have a maximum operation speed of 160 km/h, far exceeding the 80-100 km/h speed of existing ones. Configured with 4 cars and a total length of 95.3 meters, the trains are more than 20 meters shorter than the existing 6-car trains. This makes them faster and lighter. Upon operation, these urban trains will accelerate the integration of the city’s northern and southern areas into the main urban area and construct a "60-minute transportation circle" for the Ningbo metropolitan region.
