On July 18, exported diesel locomotives for overhaul completed their upgrade and refurbishment, successfully rolling off the production line at CRRC Ziyang Company.

The locomotives for overhaul were the first batch exported by CRRC Ziyang to Turkmenistan in 2005. All served for an average of 20 years with each mileage of over 2 million km, at the end of 2024, CRRC Ziyang and Turkmenistan State Railway Open Joint Stock Company signed a return-to-factory repair contract to carry out systematic maintenance and technical upgrading of this batch of locomotives.

In May 2025, the first batch of locomotives arrived at CRRC Ziyang for comprehensive overhaul. The project focuses on precision refurbishment of key parts including bogies, diesel engines, and electrical systems, and integration of next-generation intelligent control systems, safety monitoring technologies, and ergonomic upgraing. This batch of locomotives that have been in service for nearly 20 years achieved a technological leap and complied with the technical standards of the new generation of locomotives in many aspects such as intelligence and safety. It also helps Turkmenistan to build a maintenance technology system by carrying out technical training and preparing standardized technical manuals.
