Dragon Boat Racing on the Danube

  On June 14, the exciting 11th Austrian Danube Dragon Boat Race was held, and CRRC ZELC Europe team participated and won first place in the amateur group. Qi Mei, Ambassador of the Chinese Embassy in Austria and Christian Gepp, Mayor of Korneuburg, performed the traditional eye-dotting ceremony to inaugurate the race.

  A total of 23 dragon boat teams from Austria and neighboring countries participated in the competition. Among them, the Chinese Embassy and the British Embassy in Austria fielded their own teams. It marked the first time that diplomatic missions have taken part in the "Austrian Danube Dragon Boat Race", adding  a rich new dimension to Austria's multicultural landscape.

  The competition was divided into professional and amateur groups. With joint and determined efforts, CRRC ZELC Europe secured first place in the amateur group after four rounds of competition. 

  Compared with previous ones, this years Dragon Boat Race was unique as it was held concurrently with an Austrian folk handicraft festival at the same venue. The two events complemented each other with their unique strengths remained, creating a vibrant atmosphere of cultural integration.
