  On October 23, 2025, CRRC held the Headquarter ESG Management Training in Shanghai, organized by CRRC Asset Management Co., Ltd. The program brought together leaders and professionals from headquarter departments for focused learning on ESG policy, ratings, and digital management, supporting the group’s broader sustainable development goals.

  Opening Session: Shared Understanding and Strategic Direction

  Tan Xiaofeng, Party Secretary and Chairman of CRRC Asset Management, welcomed participants and highlighted the Asset Management unit’s role in supporting end-to-end ESG governance.

  Zhao Yong, CRRC’s General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Director of Safety, delivered the keynote speech, outlining the strategic importance of ESG and its connection to responsible governance and long-term competitiveness. He emphasized the need to: embed ESG across the value chain, strengthen international alignment and disclosure quality, build a solid data foundation through digital systems, and advance climate action and low-carbon leadership.

  Professor Yin Haitao of Shanghai Jiao Tong University analyzed global ESG trends and the shift from “optional” to “mandatory” ESG practices, stressing the need to integrate social responsibility into core business.

  Gong Yu, Director of CRRC’s Operations, Safety, and Environmental Protection Department, provided an in-depth overview of CRRC’s “33416” ESG strategy model, policy systems, and indicator framework, clarifying how ESG responsibilities should be incorporated into departmental work and everyday processes.

  ESG experts from an external consulting organization delivered hands-on training on MSCI ESG rating improvement, disclosure recommendations, and use of the CRRC ESG digital management system. Participants also completed CRRC’s double-materiality assessment questionnaire.

  Zhang Pengyuan from CRRC Asset Management presented the company’s approach to Scope 3 emissions management, further grounding ESG requirements in specific operational actions.

  By combining theory, policy, strategy, and practical exercises, the training strengthened ESG awareness and implementation capabilities across headquarters teams. It lays a solid foundation for embedding ESG into corporate governance and business operations as CRRC advances its sustainable development objectives.
