The All-China Railway Federation of Trade Unions recently announced the National Railway Sports Awards, recognizing top contributors in the industry. The CRRC Yongji Electric Co. Trade Union received the highest honor, “National Railway Sports Advanced Unit”, awarded once every four years.
Guided by President Xi Jinping’s vision for sports development, the company’s trade union has actively promoted the integration of national fitness and public health, aligning with the “Happiness Four Homes” trade union initiative and contributing to China’s goal of becoming a strong sporting nation.
To support employees' well-being across its diverse project sites, the trade union has established dedicated fitness areas in its “New Small Home” facilities, equipped with treadmills, table tennis tables, and other workout equipment. Additionally, the company has rented access to nearby swimming pools, badminton courts, and other sports venues, ensuring employees have access to diverse fitness opportunities tailored to their local conditions.
Encouraging a green, low-carbon, and healthy lifestyle, the trade union has organized the “Green Low-Carbon Health Run” for three consecutive years. Throughout the event, employees shared their weekly and monthly running achievements on the company’s official WeChat account, exchanged running experiences, and received small incentives to encourage participation. More than half of all trade union members have joined the running initiative, with many beginners gradually adopting running as a long-term habit.
Beyond individual fitness programs, the trade union has also fostered teamwork and camaraderie by organizing corporate sporting events. For two consecutive years, it has hosted the “CRRC With You” Employee Sports Games and actively participated in the “Party-Building Alliance” Sports Games organized by Wuxi Metro Group. In addition, the company has held badminton, basketball, and football tournaments, strengthening employee relationships and external collaborations with local project partners. These initiatives have not only enriched employees’ recreational lives but also built bridges for enhanced cooperation and communication with local stakeholders.
Through a wide range of engaging and accessible sports activities, the trade union has fostered a healthy, active, and vibrant workplace culture. Moving forward, it will continue to expand its fitness initiatives, implement the “Four Health” corporate wellness system set by CRRC’s Group Trade Union, and enhance employees’ sense of happiness, fulfillment, security, and belonging—all while contributing to the company’s long-term, high-quality development.
