On October 22, the Accelerating the Development of a Strong Transportation Nation Conference was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu, with Liu Wei, Party Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, delivering a keynote speech. Jiangsu Governor Xu Kunlin gave the opening address, while Vice Governor Xia Xinmin and Vice Minister of Transport Xu Chengguang also attended. CRRC Chairman Sun Yongcai was invited to the event.
During the conference, the list of “Outstanding Pilot Units for Transportation Powerhouse Development” (10 organizations) and “Outstanding Pilot Projects” (20 initiatives) were announced. CRRC Corporation Ltd. was recognized as an Outstanding Pilot Unit, while its project on “International Standards Research for Rail Transit Equipment” was selected as an Outstanding Pilot Task.
The conference also honored the “Top 10 Inspirational Figures in Transportation 2023.” The CRRC Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway (HSR) Maintenance Team received a prestigious award, with senior transport officials presenting the certificate.
Following the ceremony, Sun Yongcai met with Liu Yang, a representative of the Jakarta-Bandung HSR Maintenance Team, to personally congratulate the team and extend his appreciation to the after-sales service staff. He emphasized the importance of implementing President Xi Jinping’s directives to ensure the sustainable operation of the Jakarta-Bandung HSR, urging the team to uphold the spirit of Chinese high-speed rail workers: “Serving the nation through industry, pioneering innovation, and accelerating the China Dream.”
On October 23, CRRC Vice President Yu Weiping participated in a thematic discussion on “Building a Modern Comprehensive Transportation System and Promoting Integrated Transport Development.” He shared CRRC’s strategies and plans for advancing China’s transportation powerhouse goals and fostering integrated transport solutions.
The conference also saw the release of the 2023 Report on Accelerating the Development of a Strong Transportation Nation and, for the first time, introduced the Transportation Powerhouse Index.
