It is a type of AC-DC-AC transmission main line freight diesel locomotive for narrow gauge railway , adopting C0-C0 radial bogie with axle load of 20t, and axle load index can be improved through adding weights. The locomotive employs outside corridor and underframe load-bearing structure with single cab, installed with MTU 20V4000R43 diesel engine, adopts transmission solution of integrating main alternator with auxiliary alternator, KNORR ECP+WAP+DP60 distributed electro-pneumatic brake system, microcomputer control system based on CAN-OPEN bus, having the functions of distributed multiple-unit running, full power self-load, low and constant speed control, self-extinguishing in power room, forward video capture, emergency escape from front window, biochemical toilet and mute cooling fan. This type of locomotive has formally put into service in Australia, with good traction and brake performance, as well as reliable quality.
