SDA3 diesel locomotive is a main line passenger and freight diesel locomotive run on narrow gauge railway. This type of locomotive adopts AC-DC-AC transmission and has excellent traction and dynamic brake performance. It adopts radial bogie with single pull rod positioning so as to have a good curve negotiation performance, improve riding quality of locomotive effectively, reduce wheel-rail wear and ensure the safe operation. It adopts inside corridor and sidewall load bearing structure with double cabs and also employs a new type of sealing structure which is suitable for rainy and damp operation environment. The locomotive is of double-heading operation, equipped with microcomputer network control system, auxiliary AC transmission system,WABTEC air brake system,dynamic braking device and event recorder. New technology and new structure are adopted such as supporting diesel generator set with 10 supporting points, overhead plate radiator, etc. SDA3 diesel locomotive has been put into use on the railway of Southeast Asian , which has effectively alleviated freight transportation pressure.
