Adopting axle-control type AC transmission technology, Type GEVO16 diesel engine, high-power IGBT invertor, the double-cab HXN5 diesel locomotive has good anti-idle and anti-slip performance, high peripheral efficiency, quick startup and acceleration, better dynamic and braking performance. Triple heading is available.
Modularization design, manufacture and assembling make it easy and simple to inspect and maintain the locomotive. AESS control system is equipped for automatically controlling the on and off of engine. The locomotive adopts outside corridor and double cabs which are convenient for inspection, maintenance and operation.
