R12V280ZJ Diesel is designed and developed based on R16V280ZJ diesel which was in cooperation with world-renowned consultancy firm AVL. It inherits the strength of R16 diesel engine (with 16 cylinders). With the strategy of “technology import, absorption and re-innovation”, this diesel engine has turned out to be more economical and reliable with better emission.
VTG supercharging technology is developed and used on this diesel. At partial load work condition, through changing the area of nozzle ring vane and increasing the supercharged pressure , the match performance between turbocharger and diesel engine is optimized , which incurs lower fuel consumption rate and thermal load at the partial load work condition in an efficient manner.
Meanwhile, the match performance between fuel electronic injection system and diesel engine is improved in further way, which promotes the running stability and dynamic response.
In terms of overall design, 2 superchargers are fitted at the free end and modularization design is utilized for major special components of R12V280ZJ, such as engine block, crankshaft, and camshaft. Meanwhile, mature and reliable components from R16V280ZJ, 16V280ZJA are used as much as possible to ensure the reliability of this diesel engine.
Integration design method is used for pipeline system so that a large number of outer pipes can be reduced, which reduces the possibility of various leakages ( minor or major oil, water or air leakage).
