It is equipped with 12V240ZJ diesel engine, with AC-DC as main transmission and AC as auxiliary transmission. The main alternator employs brushless excitation and axle-hung rolling bearing structure is used for motor assembly. The locomotive employs microcomputer control system and dynamic braking equipment.
